According to the Government, swine flu infections may have ‘plateued’ this week. That’s not to say that we should all heave a collective sigh of relief and forget about the whole thing, but it does indicate that things may be slowing down, at least for now.
Short of walking around with a doctor-esque facemask or full on scuba suit though, there is little you can realistically do to avoid the swine flu altogether - but read on to find out how you can nudge those odds slightly back in your favour.
You’re probably thinking that this is a bit of a strange topic for a blog about UK Holidays, but you’d be wrong. Camp sites are notorious for being breeding grounds for virii, not only due to the close nature of children in and around parks - but also because of the general hygiene issues that surround outdoor living. So, here are a few tips to keep the lurgies at bay:
- No running water? keep plenty of alcohol gel on hand
- Use the alcohol gel after each time you touch a public hard surface (door handles etc)
- Avoid using communal toilets, consider purchasing a portable lavatory
- Make sure your kids shower immediately after using any communal swimming pools
Following these steps and using some common sense should ensure you and your loved ones can have an illness free uk holiday.
