new houses with swimming poolsWith the UK building market seemingly showing no signs of the recession that is clearly gripping the nation, new houses continually pop up on every scrap of land physically possible.

But something interesting, at least to the crew here at BHP HQ, is the fact that more of the upper echelon dwellings are being built with swimming pools than ever before. What does this mean? simple, UK holidays no longer generate the buzz and enthusiasm in these households as they might once have done.

This is obviously not going to affect the millions of households around the country that haven’t got the pennies (or the space come to think of it) for a swimming pool, but is another indicator of the growing rift between the social classes and their prospective holiday destinations. For example, it was recently reported in the mainstream media that households with one or more children and a combined income of over £45,000 per year are likely to take a uk holiday only once in every 5 year period.
