Admittedly, the past week or so has not been the best advert in the world for holidaying in the UK. I peered out of my bedroom window this morning to witness a torrent of water running down my road at a speed akin to Usain Bolt show-boating his way to a world record and, I have to admit, didn’t feel too envious of those of you taking your summer break in one of our countries fabulous caravan parks.

Stormy Weather

So what’s the solution when betting on good weather is as safe as letting Prince Philip loose during Diwali? City Breaks of course! England has oodles of fantastic hotels in major cities like London, Manchester and Cambridge. There is truly something for everyone, and the best part of it all is, even if the weathers less than ideal you can at the very least take advantage of everything the hotel has to offer.

Take the fabulous London Westminster for example. Should the heavens open and the flood waters fill the streets, you can always go for a swim in the spacious indoor swimming pool, pump some iron in the fabulous gym or indeed just relax and mingle in the hotel restaurant and bar.

None of that take your fancy? I suppose you can always hide away in your suite and crack on with gaining level 60 in World of Warcraft with the hotels broadband internet facilities!
